Sometimes the traditional entertainment is centre stage; other times you need a little help to find the discreet and intimate settings where time stands still and the performers while away the hours with their exhilarating musicmaking.

A seisiún (or session) is a night of exciting traditional entertainment consisting of music, song, dance and storytelling. It involves a group of musicians who come together to play and enjoy good traditional music primarily for their own enjoyment, although in most cases it also proves highly entertaining to non-participants.
